Why we are opening up again

Some players enjoy playing basketball to prove who the best player is, and like arguing over fouls. This has never been my motivation for playing. My aim has always been to connect. This is why I ran my own sessions, but all it takes is one or two players to turn up determined to play ego basketball, and I would lose the focus on connection, until I proved we are the better players. But I can't be bothered with this anymore. Life is too short.
For my sessions with young people, I would also get a few parents picking fights with my boys because they believed their child was being unfairly criticized for playing basketball correctly, while they thought another player was being allowed to play incorrectly. This disconnect arose because the parents were observing good basketball, while we were seeing a poor connection. I needed to fix this disconnect.
Yesterday, new players arrived who had gotten tickets through the website, and it was clear they were there to connect by playing basketball. Happy days. Onward and upward.
I am not an expert basketball coach. I am, my boys and I, are expert at helping people access the ultimate form of connection known as Gestalt :)
