Players get more Gestalt by putting all attention on the dynamic connections between all parts. Waiting for opportunities to offer previously unseen alternatives as someone’s options begin to dwindle. And if nothing appears, look for something else.​

 

Gestalt becomes less frequent when metrics shift players' focus to overthinking the execution of individual parts. They lose sight of how all the parts connect. The resulting poor decision making can mean performance drops below the sum of the parts.
