When it’s not working, we often limit our response to doubling down on fixing faulty parts, when we should also focus on strengthening the relationships between the parts so they connect better as a whole.
The whole is not the sum
of its parts. It's the
relationship
between them.
Insight emerges from the relationship of the whole, not from a reduction to the parts.
When we strengthen the relationships between the parts so they connect more effectively as a whole, we can keep it working as problems arise.
When our only response to things not working is doubling down on fixing faulty parts, we are dependent on someone else to take control and repair them. If we begin to feel controlled by someone helping us, strengthening the relationships between the parts so they connect better as a whole, we have likely shifted our attention back to fixing faulty parts.
We play basketball to stop social media controlling our mindset

We stop our mindsets being controlled by social media by sharing experiences that can only happen outside the digital realm. We pay attention to the skills of relationships of connections that can only be felt and never wholly measured—the skills of authentic, creative social cohesion. We LOOK UP!
