Those fleeting moments of uncoachable inspiration are connections that create something greater than the sum of the parts, a phenomenon known as Gestalt.
We train Gestalt by stopping players from addressing what metrics indicate is broken, so that they put all attention on the dynamic connections between all parts. We show players how to wait for opportunities to offer previously unseen alternatives as someone’s options begin to dwindle. And if nothing appears, look for something else. Coaches use what the metrics indicate is broken to design problems for the players to solve through connection.

Enjoy the freedom of playing - thinking - outside the box - by playing basketball. Thinking inside the box - we achieve what we can reach. Thinking outside the box we attain performance beyond our reach. We find other ways we can’t yet see. That once seen we wonder why we didn’t see it before. A Wow moment.
