In sports and in life, CONNECTION is as important as everything else put together.
The ultimate connection is called Gestalt—An immersive experience of the connections between the players, creating something greater than the sum of individual talents.
Without an understanding of Gestalt, it is easy to believe that achieving maximum potential necessitates perfect alignment, where everything fits together flawlessly. You remove the opportunity to experience something more than the sum of the parts. You prevent genuine connection.
You don't access a Gestalt by following instructions. Coaches can encourage connection; only players can access and shape a Gestalt. It is achieved by observing and copying those within the Gestalt you wish to join, and processing the entirety of the experience so that you embody the Gestalt. It is easier to access a Gestalt when someone is shaping it.
HOW TO SHAPE A GESTALT - think Steph Curry
1. Clarity. Ensure that the next move is apparent to everyone
2. Patience. Wait to see how everyone reacts
3. A Sense of Calmness. If the chosen move can’t be executed, stay calm, and allow another move of clarity to unfold.
The ability to experience genuine connection is a crucial life skill for the 21st century

About the event
Flow state training helps players to sync their flow so that they don't need to force something to happen by sprinting up and down the court, and taking one pass and shooting. It’s important to note that players who do this are not bad players; they are simply out of sync with their team's flow.
Players are trained to sync their flow by paying attention to the relationships of connection between everything around them and take an action. To pause to see how that affected the relationships of connection, and then take another action, and so on. Everything becomes timeless, natural, and effortless as players fit fragments of the parts seamlessly together in different and unfolding ways, without the sensation of active thought. Performance is simply the result of allowing flow to happen so that something we could not have known before appears—a Wow moment.
