To think of the whole. To make small adjustments that change the shape of the whole so it becomes more than the sum of its parts. Stop a fragmented perspective from diminishing collective effectiveness.
By viewing the feet, legs, hips, and other body parts as components of a whole that can be shaped, we lessen the reliance on perfect execution of ingrained habits Additionally, by recognizing how the spacing between all players on the court form a whole that can be shaped, we diminish the reliance on pre-programmed team strategies. We keep a typical brain at full sporting capacity.

About the event
Our User Guide is designed to help you all see that we play basketball to teach the skills to switch off machine-mindedness to see the organic, fluid relationships that surround us.
This phenomenon known as machine-mindedness, is a characteristic of the human experience. We get it when we limit our perspective to winning or losing control. We fixate on a linear series of actions directed toward a singular goal. We often find ourselves stalled until a straightforward path presents itself.
By playing basketball we share experiences of being fully present beyond the confines of machine-mindedness, feeling more human than machine. We experience the whole as greater than the parts. That true growth emerges from embracing fragility rather than solely focusing on resilience. We don't wait to act until we target a collision we can control. We use our physicality to create space for maneuvering around opponents not going through them…
