When it’s not working, we often limit our response to doubling down on fixing faulty parts, when we should also focus on strengthening the relationships between the parts so they connect better as a whole.
The whole is not the sum
of its parts. It's the
relationship
between them.
Insight emerges from the relationship of the whole, not from a reduction to the parts.
When we strengthen the relationships between the parts so they connect more effectively as a whole, we can keep it working as problems arise.
When our only response to things not working is doubling down on fixing faulty parts, we are dependent on someone else to take control and repair them. If we begin to feel controlled by someone helping us, strengthening the relationships between the parts so they connect better as a whole, we have likely shifted our attention back to fixing faulty parts.

It's like painting a picture - the more colours and shades we understand and use, the richer and more vibrant our artwork becomes. Similarly, the more we understand the interconnectedness of play, the more harmonious our flow becomes. It's all about recognizing patterns. We do something, pause, see what happened, and respond. We keep going until something we could not have known before appears—a Wow moment. The outcome of flow is Wow. This understanding can help us navigate life more smoothly and creatively.
SkillsofWow.org is the governing body for those who coach the skills of Wow.
