We show players that those fleeting moments of uncoachable inspiration are connections that create something greater than the sum of the parts, a phenomenon known as Gestalt. Gestalt is a commitment to succeed by exploring the unknown together, knowing this provides more time to perfect parts. Gestalt can be trained.
We train Gestalt by stopping players from addressing what metrics indicate is broken, so that they put all attention on the dynamic connections between all parts. We show players how to wait for opportunities to offer previously unseen alternatives as someone’s options begin to dwindle. And if nothing appears, look for something else. Coaches use what the metrics indicate is broken to design problems for the players to solve.

League levels players - Learn the skills of space and timing - to thinking outside the box - to achieve more. Players get better at seeing the depth of space between all the other players. Better at reading the whole of what is happening. And better timing a movement through the space between all the players - to create a constant flow of options that are hard to defend and easier to score.
