Relational awareness training
Return to your teams with the relational awareness to play your part in sustaining whole-system resilience.
With all attention on making everything function as expected, each function mastered builds confidence that nothing will go wrong—until one part fails and the whole fragments. When systemic fragmentation stems from broken relationships between functions, improving individual functions misses the point. A better approach is to develop the relational awareness to process how functions relate as a whole. To relax into alert connection and enjoy a dance of anticipation, confident that we can handle whatever comes next.
Welcome. I hope you’re well. My name is Jon Thorne, and I spent the first part of my career separating functional and relational thinking from human connection. In the second, I focused on bringing the relational back to the functional. My book explains why meaningful connection cannot come from focusing only on how things function. That may be enough for some people, but I’m writing for those who want something more.

About the event
Coaches will coach skills where Artificial Intelligence falls short. They will show players how to stop treating each other as Lego-like pieces in strategic set plays and see each other as blocking lines of sight. To make decisions to move around each other to see something they were not expecting to see, and players often express their surprise by saying "Wow." As players accumulate practical experience, they transcend mechanical AI thinking and make better decisions using a deeper understanding of the relationships, connections, and flow between all things. Everyone regardless of their ability to play basketball develops the skills where AI falls short.
