ELITE PROGRAMS WE WORK ON

Maxibasketball is for basketball players aged 35 years and older. GB Maxibasketball is an elite program developed to prepare British teams to compete in the European and World maxi-basketball competitions
ELITE ATHLETES TEND TO HAVE EVERYTHING METICULOUSLY
PLANNED
FOR THEM
THIS DOES LITTLE TO PREPARE THEM FOR THE MOMENTS IT ALL GOES WRONG
IF ATHLETES CAN'T THINK ON THEIR FEET TO DEAL WITH A MISTAKE AS IT HAPPENS THAT MISTAKE CAN EASILY GROW INTO A MAJOR PROBLEM
When athletes are poor at thinking on their feet, and something goes wrong, they can struggle to see what else to do, so keep doing what is not working. Or they wait until a coach can tell them what to do, which is often too late. Or they follow one mistake with another. Mistakes lead to more mistakes which leads to losing.
When athletes are good at thinking on their feet, they turn mistakes into opportunities. They win games they are losing.
AGILE COACHES SHOW ATHLETES
HOW TO BE GOOD
AT THINKING ON THEIR FEET
Agile coaches run sessions that create spontaneous opportunities for athletes to practice thinking on their feet. They create one-offs, never to be repeated again so that athletes don't have any procedural way of dealing with them. Sessions involve in the moment puzzles to solve without stopping to work out a planned response. These puzzles will change all the time. They might include playing sports where athletes can’t rely on any athletic or technical superiority. Athletes are encouraged to try things that they have no idea will work. In this spontaneous environment, Agile coaches show players how to get better at thinking on their feet.
THINKING ON OUR FEET MEANS TAKING ACTION WITHOUT BEING SURE OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN. IT’S TAKING ACTION WITH AN ABILITY TO SPOT IF IT DOESN’T WORK AND STOP, THINK ON OUR FEET, AND TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. TO KEEP GOING UNTIL WE FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS
